Live Jazz in Sydney!!! this coming Friday 6th April is Good Friday and Club Ashfield is CLOSED all day, so no jazz that night.....

Good Friday is the next Friday, 6th April 2012 and the venue the Bridge City Jazz Band plays at, Club Ashfield is closed for 24 hours so the band won't play that night....
The following week, Friday 13th April is back to normal and the special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band that evening are....
Mike Hallam, trumpet/vocals...
Peter Locke on piano....
Craig Lee on drums....
And John Bates our regular trombone player is unavailable so the special guest trombonist is Mike Poore...

Live traditional Jazz in Sydney!!!....Club Ashfield provides it every Friday night...This Friday, 30th March 2012 we've the Canberra duo joining with the Bridge City Jazz Band...Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on piano with Sydney drummer Joel Davis....

The Black Mountain Jazz Band was for years a force in Canberra, but finally several years back it disbanded for reasons and we enjoy now having their leader Tony Thomas, trumpet and vocals and pianist, Ron Cook come up to Sydney and play with the Bridge City Jazz Band...
They're here for Friday 30th March and joined by Sydney drummer Joel Davis as our other special guest....
All the guys in the band are special....
Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone, Colin Davies on double bass, John Bates on trombone and vocals and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo rounding out the band....
A band with a distinctly New Orleans musical flavour....... mark this one in your diaries....

Live traditional Jazz in Sydney!!!....Club Ashfield provides it every Friday night...This Friday, 23rd March 2012 has a special two trumpet night in the Louis Armstrong /King Oliver format...The Bridge City Jazz Band features John Wilson and Geoff Bull on trumpet leads....

This coming Friday will be a "ripper" at Club Ashfield.... we did it last year around this time..then we had Geoff Power and Geoff Bull on trumpet leads....
Tonight we've got John Wilson and Geoff Bull on trumpet and Paul Furniss on reeds, Rachel Hamilton on the Club's grand piano and Neil Macbeth on drums...myself DQ on banjo, John Bates on trombone and Colin Davies on double bass.... 
You don't see much of this repertoire played now, so mark your diaries and get along to Club Ashfield...

Live traditional Jazz in Sydney!!!....Club Ashfield provides it every Friday night...This Friday, 16th March 2012 The Bridge City Jazz Band features Jiri Kripac, "The Bouncing Czech" on trumpet lead, Frank Watts on piano and Joel Davis on drums...

He is  affectionately called "The Bouncing Czech/Cheque" by other musos....
Jiri Kripac is back with us this Friday 16th March to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet with some vocals.
Down from the Central Coast to join us on the Club's grand piano is Frank Watts and Joel Davis takes the drum stool with Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal clarinet/alto saxophone, John Bates trombone/vocals and Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
Always a good night of traditional jazz with Jiri in charge....

Live traditional Jazz in Sydney!!!....Club Ashfield provides it every Friday night...This Friday, 9th March 2012 The Bridge City Jazz Band features Victorian trumpet player John Roberts and he's accompanied by David Stevens on piano and Jim Morrell on drums...

Victorian trumpet player John Roberts is in Sydney occasionally during the year and if the "planets are in alignment" I can get him to be the featured trumpet player with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield.
The latest "alignment" occurs this coming Friday 9th March and his friend and pianist David Stevens will be another of our guests for the night and a welcome back to our retired drummer, Jim Morrell to take over the drum stool. With the regular Bridge City guys....John Bates, trombone and vocals; Colin Beal, clarinet and alto saxophone and Colin Davies, double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo, the evening is shaping up to one of great traditional Jazz...
Aghhh...but we'd like to see you there....
