Well this coming Friday 20th December is the last night for the Bridge City Jazz band playing at Club Ashfield for 2013....
We're going out with a bang...always a bang when we've Bill Dudley on cornet lead coupled with Gary Walford on piano and Chris Gentle on drums....
The rest of the Bridge City Jazz Band are then off to the 68th Australian Jazz Convention at Goulburn.... Colin Davies, double bass; Colin Beal, reeds; John Bates, trombone and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
Could be a bit Christmassy with the occasional Christmas carol played with a jazz feel.....

Well last Friday was a cracker for jazz aficionados in Sydney with Bob Barnard's big night, but I promise you this coming Friday will be another....!
We like having Geoff Power lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and he likes coming to play jazz with us....
Couple this with our other two guests for the night, Frank Watts on piano and Joel Davis on drums with regular Bridge City Jazz Band members Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds, John Bates on trombone and vocals and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo and the night will be a "rager"..."swing like a dunny door" as I'm often wont to say....!!
