We've George Washingmachine back to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 7th February....in the Stephane Grapelli mould, a super jazz violinist, coupled with Gary Walford on the piano and Neil Macbeth on drums with the regular Bridge City guys, John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo the night promises to "swing like a dunny door in a southerly...!!!"

Bill Dudley a band leader in his own right, running the New Orleanians at The Evening Star Hotel near Central Railway Station Sunday afternoons and he leads the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 31st January, 7.30pm to 10.30pm on cornet and vocals and joining him on piano is Carolyn Packer with Chris Gentle on drums.... the usual Bridge City guys make up the band...John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Davies on double bass, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone....

Kym Till is known for is great jazz piano playing as well as on trumpet and we're pleased to have him lead the Bridge City Jazz Band this coming Friday 24th January 2014 at Club Ashfield....5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield in the first floor bistro/function at 7.30pm to 10.30pm....
We've Peter Locke on piano and he plays a little trumpet, so in the second set we'll likely do a swap with Kym on piano and Peter on trumpet for a couple of numbers....

Fresh back from the 68th Australian Jazz Convention where we played as a combined Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz band sees Tony Thomas lead the band on trumpet/vocals, Ron Cook on the Club Ashfield grand piano and Ian Hill on the bands drum kit....
A really tight rhythm section sees this band a ripper and will swing like a dunny door in a southerly breeze...

Well a Happy New Year to you all and my apologies for not being able to get a post to cover our first Friday back for the year...last Friday 3rd...I was at the 68th Australian Jazz Convention and unfortunately the motel I stayed at had no wi-fi internet connection...
So this coming Friday, 10th January we've Paul Furniss leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano saxophone and a brace of reed instruments....
Paul was at the Jazz Convention and the original tune he wrote for the annual competition came second...on ya Paul!
Our other two special guests for the night are Monique Lysiak on the Club's grand piano and Viv Carter on drums....
